R&B singer Ann Marie is heard in a newly-released 911 call she made following a shooting in an Atlanta hotel room last week that left a man in critical condition, and the singer in jail.
A frantic Ann Marie, 25, was heard repeatedly telling the victim, ‘I love you,’ in a clip published on TMZ Tuesday.
‘Please somebody help me, help me please!’ she said to operators, who asked her to calm down so they could exchange pertinent information in the wake of the shooting.
The Secret artist, whose real name is Joann Marie Slater, was booked into Fulton County Jail December 1 in connection with possession of a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Ann Marie was taken into custody after police responded to a shots fired call at the Intercontinental Buckhead Hotel.
Officers found a male victim, who has been identified as Jonathon Wright, 24, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, according to CBS46 in Chicago.
Wright ‘was somewhat responsive, when officers arrived on scene and repsonded to questions,’ officials told the affiliate, adding that he was transported to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Wright had wounds in his forehead and left temple indicating the entry and exit spots of the bullet, respectively, officials said.
The singer has had her best commercial success with the 2018 single Secret, which was on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart for a month last year.
