Chicago rapper BloodHound Q50, whose real name is reportedly Mikquale Cooper, has been reported dead following a shooting in Chicago’s Fuller Park neighborhood.
According to the Chicago Police Department, a 22-year-old man was fatally shot shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday, September 13, in the 4200 block of South Wentworth Avenue. Police said two vehicles pulled alongside the vehicle the victim was sitting in and multiple people opened fire before fleeing the scene.
Multiple reports have identified the victim as BloodHound Q50. Complex reported that the victim suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder and was pronounced dead after responding officers attempted to provide treatment. Police had not publicly identified the victim in their initial statements.
Q50 was 22 years old and had been building a name for himself in Chicago’s drill scene. His death comes after the recent release of his project “Get Back or Die Trying.” He also performed at Rolling Loud earlier this year.
News of the shooting quickly spread across social media, with fans and fellow artists reacting to the reported loss.
At this time, authorities have not announced an arrest, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
