Police have accused an employee at an Eastpointe McDonald’s restaurant of fatally stabbing a co-worker on Thursday morning following an argument.
Her family has identified the victim as 39-year-old Jennifer Harris, a mother of six.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. Thursday at the McDonald’s located in the 17900 block of 9 Mile Road in Eastpointe.
Police report that Harris, who served as the shift manager, and another employee, a 26-year-old woman, got into an argument earlier that day. Following the altercation, Harris sent the suspect home early. The suspect later returned to the restaurant wearing a mask and armed with a knife, and she allegedly stabbed Harris.
An armed customer in the drive-thru witnessed the stabbing and attempted to intervene by firing a shot, according to police. Fortunately, the bullet did not strike anyone. The witness detained the suspect who attempted to flee the scene. Eastpointe police later arrested the suspect.
